Overview

BW Gold is a wholly owned subsidiary of Artemis Gold Inc (“Artemis”). Artemis is listed on the TSX Venture exchange, and is a well-financed, growth-oriented gold development company with strong financials aimed at creating shareholder value through the identification, acquisition, and development of gold properties in mining friendly jurisdictions. Our current focus is construction of the Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia approximately 160km southwest of Prince George and 450km northeast of Vancouver.

Artemis Gold received its BC Mines Act permit for Blackwater Mine in March 2023 enabling the project to move into major works construction. 

 

Reporting to the Processing Manager, the Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and directing the efficient processing of ore and all processing activities such as planning, staffing, budgeting, cost control and profitability. Evaluates production and cost information and provides guidance in the development of plans. As part of the management team contributes to the establishment of the overall strategy for processing.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
  • With input from various teams, establish an overall strategy for processing development and production.
  • Develop and direct the implementation of operational programs, processes, and policies to meet organizational governance requirements and standards.
  • Establish the production budget based on information from the overall mine budget and business plan objectives.
  • Set production goals, ensure the throughput is in alignment with the mining plan and deal with any issues that may arise.
  • Stay current with mining laws and safety regulations, and issue notifications to direct reports ensuring compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
  • Provide top level support and advice to the management team.
  • Work with management and establishing the mid to long term operations and project development plans and set the direction for processing operations.
  • Research alternatives and implement any necessary changes to ensure best practices in production.
  • Take a leading role in the employment and development of staff.
  • Ensure ongoing effective management of staff by setting clear performance goals providing regular feedback and development through training.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering or related field required.
  • Professional designation or certification in the related area preferred.
  • 8 to 12 years of processing related experience.
  • 5 to 7 years experience in a similar supervisory role.
  • Working knowledge of processing methods and procedures.
  • Good understanding of technical and operating processes relevant to the process planning and scheduling.
  • Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team
  • Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift
