Overview

BW Gold is a wholly owned subsidiary of Artemis Gold Inc (“Artemis”). Artemis is listed on the TSX Venture exchange, and is a well-financed, growth-oriented gold development company with strong financials aimed at creating shareholder value through the identification, acquisition, and development of gold properties in mining friendly jurisdictions. Our current focus is construction of the Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia approximately 160km southwest of Prince George and 450km northeast of Vancouver.

Artemis Gold received its BC Mines Act permit for Blackwater Mine in March 2023 enabling the project to move into major works construction. 

 

Location: Blackwater Mine Site - located 160km southwest of Prince George, BC. 

 

Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

 

Reporting to the Superintendent – Learning and Development, the Learning and Development Coordinator – Equipment is responsible for ensuring that all employees have the necessary training required to perform their duties. They will be responsible for determining training requirements, developing and maintaining training courses, manuals, materials and evaluation procedures as a subject matter expert in their functional team.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
  • Determine training needs or voids
  • Identify the source of any voids and determine the method to close them
  • Supervise experienced employees who are providing additional training
  • Prepare material and tests for individual training modules and needs
  • Ensure that training materials are reviewed by peers and supervisor prior to implementing
  • Ensure all employees have been properly signed off for equipment they are operating
  • Maintain employee files ensuring they are up to date with all training records
  • Ensure all files are complete, consistent with applicable Labor Standards
  • Work with the Health and Safety team and other Mine teams to establish training procedures to be used throughout the mine site

Qualifications

  • Related technical diploma or certification in field of expertise
  • 5+ years experience operating mobile equipment, preferably in a mining environment
  • Applicable licenses and certifications for all equipment, machinery and tools used in training
  • Minimum three years of experience and a mine environment, preferably in a workforce training capacity
  • Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation
  • Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team
  • Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with both internal and external contacts
  • Ability to organize and prioritize job duties
  • Detail orientated excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to handle a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment
  • Pleasant and courteous and interpersonal interactions
