Overview

BW Gold is a wholly owned subsidiary of Artemis Gold Inc (“Artemis”). Artemis is listed on the TSX Venture exchange, and is a well-financed, growth-oriented gold development company with strong financials aimed at creating shareholder value through the identification, acquisition, and development of gold properties in mining friendly jurisdictions. Our current focus is construction of the Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia approximately 160km southwest of Prince George and 450km northeast of Vancouver.

Artemis Gold received its BC Mines Act permit for Blackwater Mine in March 2023 enabling the project to move into major works construction. 

 

Reporting to the Supervisor – Processing, the Mill Operator 1 (Control Room) is responsible for monitoring and controlling various aspects of the gold ore processing from a centralized control room. Our operators play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day activities of our processing operations.

 

Location: Blackwater Mine Site

 

Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On – Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.

  • Monitor and control the operation of equipment and processes from the centralized control room, including crushers, conveyors, mills, leaching, CIL, detox, elution and other processing units.

  • Operate computerized control systems to adjust process parameters, monitor equipment performance, and ensure production targets are met.

  • Conduct regular inspections and checks of equipment status, alarms, and process indicators to identify and address any abnormalities or deviations from operating parameters.

  • Coordinate with field operators and maintenance personnel to troubleshoot equipment issues, implement corrective actions, and minimize downtime.

  • Maintain accurate records of production data, process parameters, equipment status, and shift activities in logbooks and computerized systems.

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment and processes.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a control room is required

  • Working knowledge of all milling circuits and gold ore processing

  • 3+ years of operation experience of crushing, grinding, and other mineral processing units is required.

  • Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with process control systems and computerized control interfaces (DCS or SCADA).

  • Operation experience of gold ore processing is preferred.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.

  • Good computer skills of Microsoft office, control software, data analysis (PI) etc.

  • Ability to work night shift
  • Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation

  • Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team

  • Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift
