Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
  • Provides leadership in line with all Artemis values.  
  • Delivers exemplary safety and sustainability performance in line with Artemis’s systems and processes.
  • Ensure the asset integrity and sustainability of the operation to a high safety, productive and reliable standard, through the implementation of asset management systems and protocols aligned to organizational requirements, improving Asset Management capability and consistency.
  • Demonstrates strong technical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical fault finding and diagnostics experience.
  • Excellent working knowledge of technical and operating processes relevant to maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Implement the Mobile Maintenance Management System and Plan (including the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)).
  • Develop and employ ‘whole of life' maintenance strategies.
  • Sponsors continuous improvement processes including maintenance work execution efficiencies, root cause failure analysis, and reliability program improvement.
  • Oversee the department's forecasting, planning and execution activities to ensure budgeted production and financial targets are achieved.
  • Establish and maintain successful relationships with OEMs, suppliers and consultants.
  • Drive contractual and commercial relationships with equipment suppliers and contractors with in depth understanding to maximize value.
  • Undertaking analysis and making recommendations on capital management.
  • Maintaining relevant Policies, Guidelines, Standards and Procedures.
  • Ensure capability and succession planning of people through training and performance management.
  • Ensure full statutory compliance with statutory, safety and environmental standards and regulations as applicable at the Blackwater Gold Operations.
  • Assist with supporting employees within the Employee Development Pathway and maintaining appropriate records.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years' experience within the mining industry in a similar management role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.  Or experience in open pit mobile maintenance constituting the capacity required to manage a start up mine and also a tier 1 asset.
  • Proven track record of professional certifications in safety leadership and asset management.
  • Extensive experience in a leadership role in mobile equipment maintenance, particularly in mining or heavy industries.  Open pit mining mobile maintenance focus.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering exemplary safety and sustainability performance aligned with organizational systems and processes.
  • Proficiency in implementing and optimizing asset management systems and protocols to ensure high safety, productivity, and reliability standards.
  • Strong background in technical troubleshooting and diagnostics, encompassing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of technical and operating processes relevant to maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Hands-on experience in implementing and managing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for Surface Mobile Plant Maintenance.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute 'whole of life' maintenance strategies.
  • Track record of sponsoring and driving continuous improvement processes, including work execution efficiencies, root cause failure analysis, and reliability program enhancement.
  • Demonstrated success in overseeing forecasting, planning, and execution activities to achieve budgeted production and financial targets.
  • Familiarity with maintaining and updating Policies, Guidelines, Standards, and Procedures.
  • Proven success in capability and succession planning through effective training and performance management practices.
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience in ensuring full statutory compliance with safety, environmental standards, and regulations in mining operations.
  • Ability to operate at all levels of the organization.  Life of fleet budget presentations to hands on the tools skill set.
  • Ability to engage and motivate a diverse work force.
  • Demonstrated success at an open pit mining operation.  Successful mobile maintenance department.
