Overview

BW Gold is a wholly owned subsidiary of Artemis Gold Inc (“Artemis”). Artemis is listed on the TSX Venture exchange, and is a well-financed, growth-oriented gold development company with strong financials aimed at creating shareholder value through the identification, acquisition, and development of gold properties in mining friendly jurisdictions. Our current focus is construction of the Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia approximately 160km southwest of Prince George and 450km northeast of Vancouver.

Artemis Gold received its BC Mines Act permit for Blackwater Mine in March 2023 enabling the project to move into major works construction. 

 

Reporting to the Superintendent - Fixed Plant Maintenance, the Supervisor - Fixed Plant Maintenance is responsible for supervising for identifying, planning and executing maintenance /breakdowns in the fixed plant. Ensures that all maintenance targets and schedules are met as forecasted and performed safely, efficiently and in accordance with company policies.

Schedule: 2 Weeks On - 2 Weeks Off Rotation

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
  • Supervise and lead a team of maintenance personnel to deliver quality maintenance activities in a safe and proactive manner.
  • Establish, coordinate and direct all maintenance activities for hourly and contract workers.
  • Take an active role in the employment and development of the fixed plant maintenance team.
  • Ensure effective management of staff by setting clear performance goals, providing regular feedback and development through training.
  • Ensure direct reports are developed, trained and coached to obtain optimum efficiencies.
  • Ensure direct reports are assisted to achieve their full potential.
  • Ensure all preventative Maintenance tasks and reoccurring corrective tasks have up to date safe operating procedures (SOP).

Qualifications

  • 5 years of supervisory experience in a fixed plant or heavy industrial maintenance environment.
  • Red Seal trade in electrical, mechanical preferred.
  • Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation.
  • Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift.
  • Strong communication and supervisory skills.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft office including Excel and Teams.
  • Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to prepare accurate records and reports.
  • Experience in CMMS systems highly regarded.
  • Ability to work collaboratively an independently, taking initiative to drive improvements.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Problem-solving skills to address unexpected challenges and emergencies.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement throughout workforce.
