The Chief Maintenance Engineer – Mobile Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of CAT mobile equipment and associated assets. This role ensures that all mobile maintenance activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and problem-solving skills to support the operational needs of the company.

 

Location: Blackwater Mine Site

 

Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

Responsibilities

Leadership & Management:
• Supervise and lead a team of planners and reliability engineers in the upkeep of mobile equipment.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to enhance equipment reliability and longevity.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with operations and other departments to minimize equipment downtime and optimize performance.
• Develop ,Monitor and manage maintenance budgets, cost controls.

Technical & Operational Support:
• Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs around reliability centered maintenance.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and performance metrics.
• Implement technological advancements and best practices to enhance maintenance processes.
• Oversee the equipment OEM warranty program.


Compliance & Safety:
• Enforce safety procedures and ensure all maintenance personnel adhere to workplace safety regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments and hazard analysis for mobile equipment operations.
• Work closely with regulatory agencies to maintain compliance with industry standards.


Training & Development:
• Train and mentor maintenance staff to enhance their technical skills and operational efficiency.
• Establish training programs to keep the team updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and proactive problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in mobile equipment maintenance, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
• Sound understanding of the CAT suite of software used in mobile maintenance
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Experience in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and maintenance planning.
• Experience in reliability engineering best practices.
• Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
