Reporting to Manager - Supply Chain, the Superintendent – Contracts will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of contract management, including pre-contract (sourcing, RFI, RFP, negotiation) and post-execution, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements, and contributing to the successful execution of projects.
Contract Oversight:
Manage contracts for mining operations, including equipment supply, maintenance services, and labor, ensuring compliance with terms and mining regulations.
Operational Coordination:
Work with mine managers, engineers, and contractors to align contract deliverables with production schedules and operational needs.
Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate risks related to contract performance, supply chain disruptions, or safety violations, escalating critical issues to leadership.
Documentation:
Maintain precise records of contracts, amendments, change orders, and safety compliance documentation specific to mining operations.
Cost Control:
Monitor contract-related expenses (e.g., equipment rentals, drilling services), ensuring alignment with mine budgets and production targets.
Stakeholder Liaison:
Act as the key contact for contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, ensuring clear communication on operational and contractual matters.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure all contracted work adheres to mine safety standards (e.g., MSHA or provincial equivalents) and environmental regulations.
Issue Resolution:
Address contract disputes or performance gaps swiftly, minimizing downtime and operational impacts.
