Location: Blackwater Mine Site
Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation
o Lead complex or higher-risk employee relations matters, including workplace
investigations, disability management, and disciplinary cases in accordance with
policy and legislative frameworks.
o Serve as a subject matter expert in areas such as performance management,
respectful workplace, workplace accommodations, and progressive discipline.
o Provide effective coaching and training to people leaders to foster positive employee
relations, support sound data driven decision-making, and promote consistent
application of policies and procedures.
o Interpret workforce trends, HR metrics, and employee feedback to provide actionable
insights to site leadership.
o Develop strong working relationships with operational leaders, Indigenous
communities to support consistent and inclusive people practices.
o Provide relief coverage for the HR Superintendent during absences, provide support
to the Manager - Human Resources and the broader HR team.
o Provide input into the development of various HR strategies, programs, policies and
procedures.
o Mentor and support HR Advisors in their work, offering guidance on process, tone,
documentation, and resolution strategies.
o Partner with departmental leaders to support workforce planning, identifying future
needs, and building strategies to close talent and capability gaps.
o Lead or co-lead site-wide programs and initiatives such as onboarding
improvements, employee engagement surveys/actions plans, and recognition
programs.
o Collaborate with the HR Superintendent and site leadership on action plans based on
engagement, attrition, and performance trends.
o Lead or contribute to the development and communication of HR policies, processes,
and site-wide standards.
o Oversee or support strategic HR data tracking and reporting to identify trends and
inform site planning.
o Provide HR support for organizational changes, including restructuring, contract
transitions, and talent reviews.
o Represent the HR function in cross-functional meetings and initiatives.
o Maintain a strong understanding of Employment Standards, Human Rights
legislation, and other applicable laws.
o Ensure timely and accurate documentation of HR actions, decisions, and employee
files.
o Participate in investigations of Category B misconduct and support Superintendent
or Manager in Category A cases as needed and when requested.
o Support recruitment activities for leadership positions.
o Review and approve payroll.
o Other duties as assigned.
