Responsibilities

Case Management:

·         Coordinate all aspects of injury and illness management from initial report through to full recovery or claim closure

·         Liaise with injured employees, supervisors, healthcare professionals, and insurers

·         Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity throughout the process

Return to Work (RTW) Planning:

·         Develop and implement individualized Return-to-Work (RTW) plans in line with medical recommendations and site capabilities

·         Monitor employee progress and modify plans as needed

·         Communicate RTW arrangements clearly to supervisors and team leads

Regulatory Compliance:

·         Ensure all injury management activities comply with relevant provincial and federal legislation, workers' compensation laws, and site policies

·         Accurately complete and submit incident reports and workers' compensation documentation within required timeframes

Reporting & Documentation:

·         Maintain up-to-date records of all injury cases and RTW programs

·         Generate weekly and monthly injury statistics and trend reports for management

·         Identify and escalate significant risks or trends

Prevention & Education:

·         Provide training and awareness on injury reporting, early intervention, and injury prevention

·         Collaborate with HSE and operational teams to identify trends and contribute to risk mitigation strategies

Stakeholder Engagement:

·         Build effective relationships with medical providers, case managers, safety representatives, and supervisors

·         Collaborate with HSE, HR, and site supervisors to support a proactive safety culture

Qualifications

·         3 to 5 years of related experience required, preferably in a mining or industrial environment

·         Sound knowledge of WorkSafeBC legislation

·         Proven ability to develop RTW plans and coordinate medical treatment

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage sensitive conversations

·         Proficiency in MS Office and injury management reporting

·         Valid driver’s license is required

·         Certificate or higher education in Occupational Health & Safety, Injury Management, Rehabilitation, Nursing, or a related field is preferred

·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust with injured workers and stakeholders

·         Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality

·         Exceptional organizational and time management skills; able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment

·         Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities

·         Knowledge of mental health and psychosocial injury management

·         Strong documentation and reporting skills
