Overview

Artemis Gold is a well-financed, growth-oriented gold development company with strong financials aimed at creating shareholder value through the identification, acquisition, and development of gold properties in mining friendly jurisdictions. Human Resources Superintendent position will report to the Manager of Human Resources of Blackwater, with functional accountability to the Vice President Human Resources of Artemis Gold Inc.

 

Location: Blackwater Mine Site

 

Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

Responsibilities

  • Actively promotes proactive safety behaviors
  • Acts as a business partner to the mine site managers and serves as a change agent to implement best practices.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and support to supervisors and managers in dealing with employee relations issues by ensuring that programs are established to support managers in managing a diverse workforce
  • Partner closely with department leaders on job design, organization structure, and capturing job descriptions, individual objectives and expectations to ensure clear roles and responsibilities in all functions and across locations.
  • Develop, implement and monitor strategies and opportunities to improve the attraction, retention and engagement of employees, with particular attention being paid to the attraction and retention of First Nations employees
  • Manages the full cycle recruiting process
  • Identifies and addresses opportunities to create greater efficiencies such as measures to reduce turnover.
  • Identifies training and development needs, define budget requirements, develop training content or work with external resources to develop and deliver as appropriate.
  • Develops employee communication processes and works closely with mine site managers to ensure effective execution.
  • Coordinate employee surveys and feedback initiatives (e.g., employee engagement, best employer, etc.).
  • Liaise with department heads, corporate office HR, and municipal, provincial & federal governmental officials, as required.
  • Administer employee benefits program, and ensure timely responses to questions or concerns
  • Supporting the implementation and delivery of the Impact Benefit Agreement in partnership with the First Nations
  • Implementing and facilitating site wide annual HR cycles (Objective setting, Development goals, performance review, talent assessment, succession planning, engagement surveys, remuneration review)
  • Leading and delivering site Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and programs
  • Lead the site development and implementation of the Leadership Competency Framework
  • Ensure compliance with the Employee Standards Act, BC Human Rights Code and all other applicable Employment Laws

Qualifications

  • A university degree in a field related to Human Resources coupled with no less than ten (10) years of related experience, preferably in a mining or resource setting
  • Strong knowledge of British Columbia employment, labour and Health & Safety legislation
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Excellent strategic planning skills and abilities
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications plus familiarity with HRIS systems
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work on several complex tasks simultaneously
  • Team oriented and adopts a collaborative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to relate and communicate at all levels of the organization and with external groups
  • Ability to engage and influence senior leaders of the organization and other key stakeholders
