Reporting to the Supervisor – Processing, the Operator – Water Treatment is responsible for operating and maintaining water treatment systems specific to the needs of the mill’s operation. Our Processing department is responsible for the efficient and environmentally responsible processing of ore to extract valuable minerals.
Location: Blackwater Mine site
Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On – Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment and processes.
Operate and monitor water treatment systems tailored to the needs of the processing plant, mine and tailings storage facility, including water treatment reactor, filtration systems, chemical treatment processes, and water reclaim systems.
Regularly test and analyze water samples from different stages of the water treatment process.
Use data from water quality tests to adjust treatment processes as necessary. Optimize chemical dosages, flow rates, and treatment parameters to maintain efficient operation and meet quality targets.
Handle and store chemicals used in water treatment processes safely and according to mill protocols and regulatory requirements. Follow proper procedures for chemical handling, mixing, and disposal.
Coordinate with other departments including mining (pit and stockpile water), environment, and processing plant to ensure water treated meet the recycle or disposal requirements.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation.
Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team.
Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift.
Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift.
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
Ability to work night shift.
