Reporting to the Manager - Fixed Plant & Instructure, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Blackwater Mine Management team. Ensuring the efficient operation of the site office and related activities.

 

Location: Blackwater Mine Site

 

Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support to the Fixed Plant & Infrastructure team, including correspondence, document preparation, scheduling, and filing.
  • Manage calendars, coordinate meetings, and assist with travel and accommodation arrangements for site and contractor personnel.
  • Prepare and process purchase requisitions, work orders, and service requests in alignment with site procedures.
  • Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and project documentation.
  • Prepare, maintain, and safeguard the confidentiality of office files.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance schedules, inspections, work orders, and contractor documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and document control standards.
  • Track and compile departmental KPIs, budget data, and progress reports as required.
  • Act as a central point of contact for administrative inquiries within the Fixed Plant & Infrastructure team.
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Maintenance, Health & Safety, and other site departments to support operational efficiency.
  • Support logistics for shutdowns, maintenance campaigns, and infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

  • Certificate or diploma in Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of administrative experience, ideally in mining, construction, or industrial environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with Pronto or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Team player with the ability to focus on instructions and complete tasks in a safe and timely manner.
  • Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation 

  • Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team

  • Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift
