Reporting to the Manager of Environment, the Project Manager – Fish Habitat Offset Projects (FHOP) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, environmentally responsible, on schedule, and within budget. This position will manage 13 FHOPs ranging from locations as far as 220 kms apart which require critical scheduling and implementation planning to ensure cost effective execution. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proven track record of success in civil construction within the mining industry.

Local / Prince George, BC - Five (5) Days On - Two (2) Days Off; OR Four (4) Days On - Three (3) Days Off; OR Eight (8) Days on Six (6) Days Off.
• Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
• Plan, organize, and oversee FHOP civil earthworks construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
• Strong environmental planning related to execution, compliance, fish window timing for accurate resource and timely delivery.
• Monitor and report on project progress, identify potential risks or challenges, and implement proactive measures to mitigate issues and ensure successful project outcomes.
• Provide direction, guidance, and support to project teams, facilitating effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making throughout the construction process.
• Collaborate with procurement and legal teams to review and finalize contract documents, specifications, and terms to protect the interests of the company and mitigate risks.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor construction quality, safety performance, and environmental compliance, addressing any issues or deficiencies promptly.
• Strong communication skills working with private landowners and local communities.
• Assist with supporting employees within the Employee Development Pathway and maintaining appropriate records.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional engineering license or certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in civil earthworks construction, with a focus on projects within the mining or oil and gas industry.
• Strong technical expertise in civil engineering principles, earthworks construction techniques, and project management methodologies. Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
• Experience in working on fish habitat offset projects considered a strong asset.
• Experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor teams to achieve project objectives and deliver results in a dynamic construction environment.
Preferred Skills
• Ability to work at a remote location. 5/2, 4/3, or 8/6 schedule preferred.
• Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team
• Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift
• Strong computer skills required for tracking and reporting purposes.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders and negotiate contracts and agreements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify issues, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions to complex construction challenges.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, project requirements, and external factors while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality construction projects on time and within budget
