Reporting to the Superintendent - Mobile Maintenance, The Supervisor - Mobile Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of mobile equipment, including trucks, loaders, and excavators, to ensure optimal performance and uptime. This role is crucial in ensuring the reliability and availability of mobile equipment used in our mining operations. 

 

Location: Blackwater Mine Site

 

Schedule: 2 Weeks On - 2 Weeks Off Rotation 

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
  • Supervise a team of mobile maintenance technicians, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure the efficient and effective completion of maintenance activities.
  • Plan and prioritize maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs for mobile equipment based on operational requirements, equipment condition, and maintenance schedules.
  • Coordinate with the operations team to schedule equipment downtime for preventative maintenance and repairs, minimizing disruptions to production and optimizing equipment availability.
  • Review work orders, reports, and equipment history records to track maintenance activities, equipment performance, and costs to make recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson certificate in Mechanical or Welding trade required.
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance and repair of mobile equipment, preferably in the mining or heavy equipment industry.
  • 5 + years previous experience and a supervisory or leadership role is an asset
  • Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation
  • Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team
  • Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Strong technical knowledge of mobile equipment systems, components, and maintenance practices.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office applications.
