Overview

BW Gold is a wholly owned subsidiary of Artemis Gold Inc (“Artemis”). Artemis is listed on the TSX Venture exchange, and is a well-financed, growth-oriented gold development company with strong financials aimed at creating shareholder value through the identification, acquisition, and development of gold properties in mining friendly jurisdictions. Our current focus is construction of the Blackwater Mine in central British Columbia approximately 160km southwest of Prince George and 450km northeast of Vancouver.

 

Reporting to the Manager - Supply Chain, the Warehouse and Logistics Superintendent holds a crucial position within the organization, tasked with the development and implementation of effective business processes that govern warehouse operations. This involves overseeing key stages, including warehouse receiving, quality assurance, stocking, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory management.

 

 

Location: Blackwater Mine site

 

Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On – Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate effective safety leadership by enforcing BW Gold's safety standards, procedures, and systems.
  • Ensure end-to-end logistics and warehouse functions align with operational schedules.
  • Update and maintain the expediting report weekly, addressing variations from agreed shipment dates.
  • Implement business processes for warehouse functions, including quality assurance, stocking, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory management.
  • Manage logistics and warehousing budget, along with site-based reporting.
  • Maintain the Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) register at Blackwater.
  • Manage the relationship and performance of third-party logistics providers.
  • Oversee dispatches, delivery requirements, and accurate preparation of monthly reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Mining Safety and Health regulations and Loss Prevention procedures of BW Gold.
  • Collaborate on spare parts lists and material supply strategies with key end users.
  • Design inventory planning parameters and supervise warehouse personnel.
  • Participate in contract writing and implementation (transportation, inventory supply, and VMI contracts).
  • Ensure accurate and timely receiving, issuing, and shipping processes.
  • Liaise with management, suppliers, and end-users regarding warehouse operations.
  • Provide leadership to warehouse and transportation contractor personnel.
  • Oversee the security of warehouse and transportation assets.
  • Address operational needs of Operations, Maintenance, and the Plant.
  • Continuously improve business processes for warehouse and logistics operations.
  • Manage and coordinate component repair, warranty work, and consignment inventory.
  • Report warehouse performance on critical indicators and contribute insights into warehouse and distribution strategies.
  • Maintain and prepare regular monthly productivity, KPI, EHS, and development reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Mining Safety and Health regulations and Loss Prevention procedures of BW Gold.
  • Assist with supporting employees within the Employee Development Pathway and maintaining appropriate records.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a warehouse and logistics role, preferably within the mining or energy industry
  • Warehouse Journeyman Trade/Technical Certification required. 
  • Competent computer skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Completion or enrollment in Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) courses considered an asset.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license.
