Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On – Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

Reporting to the Supervisor – Infrastructure, the Well Pump Installer is responsible for installing, servicing and repairs of water well pumping systems and related equipment. The work encountered also varies depending on the size of the pump and the depth it is set in the well; various methods may be used for installation or removal. Work could be as simple as installing/removing the pump by hand or as complex as using pump pulling rigs and pump hoists ranging in size from pickup truck-mounted equipment to very large trucks with specialized hoists capable of lifting 50 tons or more.
• Lower pumps, piping, and cables into wells using hoists, derricks, or pump rigs
• Connect water lines to buildings and distribution systems
• Prime and test systems to ensure proper water flow and pressure
• Configure pump controls and pressure settings for efficient operation
• Ensure installations meet local plumbing, electrical, and groundwater regulations
• Pull existing pumps and drop pipe from wells safely using lifting equipment
• Diagnose causes of pump failure or poor system performance
• Remove damaged:
- Pumps, Motors, Wiring, Pipe sections, Check valves
• Inspect well casing and components for wear, corrosion, or contamination
• Replace outdated or failed systems with properly sized equipment
• Reinstall piping, wire connections, and safety components
• Test replacement systems for leaks, amperage draw, pressure, and flow rate
• Require BC well installer certification
• Minimum 3,000 hours of experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills.
Preferred Skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation
• Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team
• Ability to maintain high levels of performance over 12-hour shift
• Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs throughout a work shift
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
